This is the PGCE Wiki which we joined today and will be used as a centre for gathering useful resources for use on the course and throughout our teaching career hopefully!

The Start of the Blog

Here begins my blog, created in a Hartley Library computer suite early this Monday morning. It is to be a reflection of my learning over this PGCE year, primarily related to ICT. So far I have been surprised by the suggested amount of ICT technology and applications to be used in Primary Schools. I guess that's because I just haven't really seen much in the schools I have been in for work experience. But we're to be a revolutionary cohort of new teachers changing the teaching and learning at Primary Schools for the better, right?

I am excited about the potential of pupil's blogging, and agree they could get a lot out of it. Although I haven't heard or read much on the subject yet, my initial concern is what if negative comments are received from those outside the school setting - or in the school to tell the truth. But I guess some would argue that that's the real world... not sure yet where I lie on that. But I do like the thought of children creating their own content and being responsible for it; it would be really interesting to see where they take their own blogs.
