Musical - Dirty Dancing to finish

A relatively unplanned trip to a West End show.

going to do a bullet point post as it's now 15/5/10!

  • Discovered the film I think on my gap year and totally fell in love with it.  Loved the music, the dancing, the setting, the chemistry (of characters, not me actually being geeky!).  Think I would definitely put it in my top 10 films.  Watched it with my cousin when she came to visit me at uni one year.
  • When we'd planned to visit London for the Ceilidh I was thinking we could spend the day in London then suddenly realised we could try see a matinee as had been saying for a while we could go to West End together.  Then realised that Friday was not a very common matinee day, more places tend to do a 5pm show.  So had a quick search and was delighted to realise there were a few that now did.  And Dirty Dancing was one of them that I still think is awesome as that is probably the one I would have chosen if could have picked any (maybe a toss up with Mamma Mia, but probs still Dirty Dancing even then).
  • So we booked it up earlier in the week and Grandma really kindly said she would pay for our tickets - so lovely :-)
  • I was admittedly a little apprehensive about what it would be like - how would they transfer the film to the stage?  But I remained calm thinking of all the good reviews it had had.
  • The theatre was full - very large percentage of females unsurprisingly!  Think we were probably slap bang in the middle of the demographic!
  • And....  it was utterly fab!
