Musical - Rocky Horror Show! with attitude

After enjoying my virgin visit to Rocky back in February, I was fairly keen to go again - especially to dress up.  And fortunately I had the friends to go with and fully enter into the spirit of it!

They came to join me midday, mid-power cut which sadly happened mid-baking (blueberry buckle of course).  We had a lovely wandering afternoon in the sun and then spent a jolly evening, preparing outfits, running up and down stairs to check on muffins and buckle, and watching the film and listening to the soundtrack and working out the props to take.  And cider and wine to help us along.  It was great fun consulting on outfits and I think we all did a great job.
I tried on Sixth Form muck up day's french maid outfit and then thought about Great Auntie Mary's nightie that I had been given to try.  I end up with that - in reference to Janet - with gold heels, Romania ringlet wig (??), Mum's pink cardigan and Lizzie's pink feather boa!  Thank you Auntie Mary.  I know you would be horrified, but it was nice to be thinking of you.  And I admit I was scandalised to be going out in nightwear.
We were fairly embarrassed stepping out the front door, but not enough not to ask a passer by to photograph us!

Of course when we neared the theatre we again felt under/over dressed!
 Check out his butt cheeks!

The props added a great element to the show.  We all had torches for 'there's a light' and put our sheet of newspaper on our heads during the rain (really a whole newspaper would have been too much ;-) ).  We were also all ready with our toast but sadly turned out that was for the film rather than stage show.  Maybe understood about 20% of what people were shouting out this time!

Totally loved the atmosphere as it started and all the way through really, loads of applauding and whooping!  First half is really good, but I still feel the only thing to really recommend the second half is the Time Warp finale.  Frank was yelling at someone in the audience who was shouting out, to shut up which seemed funny at first.  Then later he really had a go at them saying they would be thrown out if they didn't shut up (in stronger language).  Then he tried to resume and said he always does that and then forgets his place.  And I spent a while thinking yeah, that would be really true, how would you remember when you do the same show every night??? Anyway, he was just as good as before - it was amazing when he strutted out!

Thank you friends, and I'll look forward to going again on the next tour with my next outfit!!
