Last year, as I noticed Spring starting to come in I decided to keep a flower diary. It was partly so I could learn when flowers flower - ie what time of year. And also just to help me learn flower names. I had made a start on learning names the previous year but this started to really help me. The idea was that I would write down the date, location and name each time I spotted a flower for the first time that year. It wasn't a perfect system but I hope as years go on it will build a picture.
Have just done a little update on April 2010 and I do enjoy it. I have been been taking quite a few photos of flowers and blossom this year. It makes me question whether the flower diary would work better on the blog as I could relate the names to the images. But if I started recording them on the blog, would the book version fizzle out? And I do like the thought that it would build within each month as the years go on, that would be harder to see on the blog right? Anyway, maybe I will post some pics here from the last couple of months. Oh, and the other reason for not committing to the flower blog diary is because I might be to lazy to put in the effort to keep it up!
